18 members from the NLU community are in NOLA from Aug. 10-16 to assist teachers of KIPP Central City Academy prepare for the Fall 2008 school year, opening again since Hurricane Katrina. The service team will set-up Knd, 5th and 6th grade classrooms and a central library. Reopening this school brings hope to the neighborhood. The team will continue their work with Happy Times Preschool. These partnerships developed Aug. 2007. Contact Karen Roth for more information.

Adrienne cleans a classroom
This was a common sight the first two days - we were all applying the spray bottles and wiping down every surface we could clear. Here is Adrienne in what would become one of the Kindergarten classrooms!
